Feeling Without Speaking | Culturally Sensitive Non-Western Approaches to Counseling BIPOC Clients
The concept of verbalization of emotions is a highly Western perspective on processing and counseling, but fails to acknowledge cultural differences and nuances in how non-Western clients may react to the Western "Talk Therapy" model. We provide a selection of potential alternatives or tools to include in your clinician toolkit to be better equipped to support clients of different backgrounds and cultures.
